Howard & Rudd via Webcast
Hi Guys – This has found its way to my inbox-
It is about a possible interview/discussion with the leaders of the current government and the opposition. There is a link to find out more information and maybe become involved. I thought some of you out there may be interested.
The leaders of Australia’s two major political parties have agreed to speak live to Christians across the nation. Christians will gather in their churches on 9 August to watch a live web-cast of Prime Minister John Howard and Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd addressing church leaders.
Federal Election 2007 Make it Count - will be hosted by the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) at the National Press Club in Canberra on 9 August from 7 pm – 9.30 pm (EST). Around 200 church, para-church and denominational leaders will travel to Canberra for the event, which will include an opportunity for them to ask questions of both Mr Howard and Mr Rudd, after their separate talks.
ACL Managing Director Jim Wallace said both the Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader’s addresses and the question sessions will be web-cast simultaneously to congregations meeting in locations throughout Australia.
This is a unique chance for Christians to hear first-hand from the Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader about why they think they should be endorsed to lead our nation, and to hear their responses to questions from church leaders. We need to be influencing all political parties to develop well-considered policy initiatives and a vision for Australia that engenders an increasingly moral and caring society.
Mr Wallace said that participating churches will need to register prior to the event through the ACL website at www.acl.org.au. The website also provides full details about the event and technical information for receiving the web-cast.

Thanks for the link Dave. The site (ACL) wants the content to only be availble via live webcast to churches and christian organisations that register. Looking at the list of groups that have registered, there are plenty of options of places to go and see it. But it is scheduled at exactly the time our local TEAR Support group is meeting to hear the stories of one of our members who’s recently returned from Kenya.
Does anyone in this network know of anyone who is planning to capture the content? I’d love to see it but can’t see it at the time it is on.
Did anyone see it?
I missed it and couldn’t find any comment in the press the next morning. So I’m guessing it was a big yawn. Did anyone see it? What did they say?
This is the only report I’ve seen on it in the media. Either the report is incredibly one-eyed or Rudd didn’t actually say anything.
sorry, here’s the link:
