Our ridiculous and scandalous proposal is that our future and security lie not in stockpiling more weapons and training for war, but in allowing Love to transform swords of war into ploughshares to feed the poor.

What if we took today’s spending and:

-Educated every child in Iraq
-set up comprehensive development packages in 12,800 villages in Afghanistan
-built 42,665 safe drinking wells across the Sudan and Ethiopia
-provided 116,363 teachers for a year for primary schools in Pakistan
-created 320,000 women’s literacy and small business groups in Indonesia

Doesn’t that sound like a better long term plan to fight terrorism today?
