Our Little Co-operative Helping Struggling Palestinian Clothing Manufacturers – By Joe Turner

Occasionally in life, you get a urge to do something and find the resources to be able to do it.

One day I woke up and decided a few things:

  • I don’t want to buy clothes that keep people trapped in poverty just so I can have a nice pair of jeans.
  • I don’t want to look like a complete turnip when I wear my ethics.
  • I don’t want want to have to remortgage my house to buy a T-shirt.Armed with these apparently simple criteria, I looked around but couldn’t find anything appropriate. So I decided to do it myself and set up a company. It is called the Freedom Clothing Project Ltd and it is a not-for-profit co-operative. Our clothes are ethical, wearable and affordable.

And very nice t-shirts they are, too. They are also well-made, in my experience.
