Be The Change – Global Campaign
As you may by now be aware, BE THE CHANGE is a global public awareness campaign that seeks to inspire and celebrate citizen action, and thereby raise awareness about civic space, the importance of it and our need to protect it.
The BE THE CHANGE website is now live and ready for your stories of citizen action!
This platform will serve as a hub where you, either as a representative of your organisation or as an individual, can share stories of actions or campaigns that you, your organisation or someone who has inspired you has undertaken. All stories on the website will share the common theme that the work undertaken has successfully led to positive social change.
Visit the website to share the story of a specific campaign, along with photos and videos; comment on, like and share your own posts and those of others (like you would do on Facebook); list lessons learnt and help still needed. Those who would like to offer help (in research, communication, fundraising, translation, etc.) will be able to connect with those needing help. We hope to attract thousands of people from around the world, all sharing inspiring stories and examples of how organisations and individuals can change the world for the better. The content on the platform will be shared via social media, multiplying its reach to thousands more people around the globe.
- Showcase your work to a global audience. Who knows who might be out there: potential funders, individual donors, volunteers, new partners!
- Inspire and celebrate citizen action, raise awareness about the importance of the one thing we all need: a healthy civic space where we can organise, speak out and take action.
- We’re also exploring the possibility of rewarding some of the most liked campaigns with bursaries to a major civil society event.
