Dr René Padilla is President Emeritus of the Kairos Foundation which he started in Argentina and which encourages Christians to meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of poor communities. He is Director of Kairos Books which specialises in books dealing with different aspects of integral mission, most of them written by Latin American authors. He is also President of the Micah Network and international president of Tearfund-UK and Ireland. Dr. Padilla has written extensively on mission, evangelism, social ethics, and the Reign of God. He grew up in Ecuador and Colombia, studied in England, where he did a PhD in New Testament, and now lives in
Buenos Aires in Argentina. Dr. Padilla was recently the guest theological lecturer at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, Indiana, USA where he spoke on “Imperial Globalization and Christian Mission”, an updated series of lectures earlier given at Princeton.
