Pace e Bene Australia
Pace e Bene Australia was established in early 2006 as an associated body to Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service. Pace e Bene Australia exists to further the growth and expansion of a spirituality of active nonviolence in Australia. We intend to do this by * Developing a community of people committed to the growth and expansion of a spirituality of active nonviolence in themselves and throughout Australia. * Providing education and training in a spirituality of active nonviolence as an alternative, effective and spiritual response to violence. * Establishing and maintaining a network of facilitator-trainers who are able to train others to facilitate ‘active nonviolent living’ programs * Liaising with Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service in the USA and other parts of the world. * Networking with other organisations working to promote peace through active nonviolence. The primary activity of Pace e Bene Australia is to facilitate the Engage [1] and From Violence to Wholeness [2] workshops around Australia. We have facilitators in every state and territory except Tasmania and NT. You can find out about planned workshops in your area by visiting the workshop schedule [3], or contact the nearest member of the steering committee [4] to discuss the workshops and how we can support you – either by facilitating a program for your community or just providing some advice on how to do it yourselves. We will be producing an occasional newsletter called PACE OZ! with information on recent workshops and activities around the country. You can view past issues and catch other news here [5]. We are also collecting a list of resources for Australian content [6] for Engage and From Violence to Wholeness, including liturgies, songs, famous nonviolent activists and case studies of nonviolent action campaigns. Please feel free to browse this list, and also to contribute your own suggestions! Fr JOHN DEAR IN AUSTRALIA: Pace e Bene Australia is proud to host Father John Dear SJ in February/March 2007, on a speaking tour taking in most capital cities. For more information on John and his schedule, go to the News page [7].
