EMERGED: AN ORAL HISTORY OF THE EMERGING CHURCH

EMERGED:

AN ORAL HISTORY OF THE EMERGING CHURCH MOVEMENT

My friend Tony Jones has joined with Tripp Fuller to record, with the help of Josh Gilbert, a series of podcasts as “an oral history of the emerging church movement”.

The series generally focuses on the emergent movement in the US, but the podcast this week called “Emergence Is Everywhere: Cross-Pollinations and Conversations” includes some stories of the emerging church from other parts of the world. Tony take a quick trip to a few places dotted round the anglosphere, stopping to talk with leaders who emerged in the UK, South Africa, Malaysia, and Australia. Then he lands on the plane in Los Angeles to remember the historic meeting of emerging pastors and rabbis in 2006.

Along the way Tony talks to Jonny Baker, Jason Clark, Peter Rollins, Graeme Codrington, Sivin Kit, Shawn Landres, and Sharon Brous.

At the beginning and the end Tony uses a couple of quotes from me to top and tail the podcast and around the 54th minute he invites me (as a noted “renegade Christian”) to share my own perspective.

“The Idiot’s Do-It-Yourself Guide To Turning Your Congregation Upside Down And Inside Out” I refer to can be downloaded from https://www.daveandrews.com.au/…/WebSiteArticles9The…
