VOICES FOR JUSTICE 2012 | 15-18 SEPTEMBER
MICAH CHALLENGE’S NATIONAL GATHERING – In recent years we have seen our Government take some significant steps in the effort to alleviate global poverty – our aid budget is increasing despite tough economic times, and poverty is present on the political and media agenda more than ever before. But Australia is still not doing its fair share in international efforts to fight poverty. We can’t afford to relax our advocacy efforts now – we must continue to take the cause of the world’s poorest people into the halls and corridors of Parliament House.

I was just wondering why do Christians only raise awareness for certain kinds of causes-and not others? For instance, there are entries on this website for girls’ empowerment. But there is no mention in the slightest of empowerment through sexuality.Feminists champion not only the empowerment of women through literacy ,the freedom to work outside the home, enhanced earnings, etc. but also the women’s right to control their own bodies-the womens’ right to seek sexual fulfilment. While talking about justice issues, why do christians neglect issues related to sensual fulfilment?Aren’t these important too?
